Our new dayboat 'Juniper' has been painted with our logo to bring her into our fleet. If you are looking for a taster to see what narrowboats are like to spend the day on she is the perfect way to start. At 36 feet long she is easy to handle and can accommodate up to 10 adults. TV celebrities have really helped our sector in the past year or two, as this Towpath Talk article explains. Most people have seen Timothy West and Prunella Scales having adventures in 'Great Canal Journeys' less people have seen 'Carry on Barging' with Nigel Havers, Lorraine Chase, Debbi McGee and Simon Callow. Also John Sergeant did a series a few years ago called 'Barging About Britain' . Between them they have helped spread the word that Narrowboat holidays are both fun and relaxing.

To Mark the start of the new season we are holding a fundraising event on Saturday 1st April for Brain Tumour Research We would ask everyone to come down to the boatyard wearing a hat. This can be as sensible or as silly as you like. You can enter our competition for 'Best Hat' by having a photo taken of yourself and friends wearing your hats in out photo booth. The winner will win a free rowboat hire. We will have all the usual boat hire going on along with Homemade cakes, snacks, hot and cold drinks and ice creams.

We will be open on Halloween until 6pm so you can enjoy a spooky halloween row on the canal, which looks spooky as the evenings draw in at this time of year. It will be dark by around 5pm so you have time to enjoy yourself. why not enjoy a hot drink in our gazebo?

We were lucky enough to experience the end of a truly marathon kayak by a father and son from the lake district to Odiham which took 15 days to complete. I believe that they were raising money for a cancer charity. If we can find out more accurate information we will post it up on our site. Well done guys.
