If you have a family member who has mobility difficulties or is a wheelchair user and want to explore the waterways on a narrowboat, we have the solution.
Surrey and Hampshire’s beautiful Basingstoke canal is very quiet with none of the problems you sometimes encounter on busier canals. On short breaks you only have to negotiate one lock. We are located approximately 30 miles South West of London and 30 miles North of the South Coast.
Not sure what to do for your holiday this summer? Maybe a narrowboat holiday on the Basingstoke Canal is the answer. A narrowboat holiday combines; your accommodation, your activities during the day and your means of transport.
Water is part of our heritage here in the UK, we are after all an island and we are never more than an hour from the coast, a river or a canal. Boating is in our blood and you don't need to have qualifications to get on the water safely in a narrowboat.
Our new dayboat 'Juniper' has been painted with our logo to bring her into our fleet. If you are looking for a taster to see what narrowboats are like to spend the day on she is the perfect way to start. At 36 feet long she is easy to handle and can accommodate up to 10 adults.
To Mark the start of the new season we are holding a fundraising event on Saturday 1st April for Brain Tumour Research We would ask everyone to come down to the boatyard wearing a hat. This can be as sensible or as silly as you like.
We will be open on Halloween until 6pm so you can enjoy a spooky halloween row on the canal, which looks spooky as the evenings draw in at this time of year. It will be dark by around 5pm so you have time to enjoy yourself. why not enjoy a hot drink in our gazebo?
